Reaching your fundraising goal might seem tough, but it's easy once you get started! Here are our top tips to help you achieve your fundraising goals.
We've also created some tools that you can download to help boost your fundraising even more!
1. Set up your fundraising page
Tell your friends and family your story with passion, and make sure they know:
- What motivated you?
- What you are doing & when
- What do you want them to do? (Donate!!)
Make sure you set a target this helps you and your supporters work together. Kick starting your donations by making the first donation really gets your fundraising moving. And, remember if you bust your goal – reset it and keep going.
2. Keep talking with a passion
People are busy and it’s too easy to forget to donate - so remind them! Don’t be discouraged by lack of an early response, most people make their donations just before & just after an event.
Share your story – if you use social media or belong to a club or workplace network tell your story and ask your friends and colleagues to be part of your journey.
3. Boost your fundraising
Host a fundraising event to help your fundraising. Try a morning tea, or a sausage sizzle. Ask your workplace. Some workplaces provide matched giving for your fundraising so chat with your HR team and bring them on board too.
4. Say thank you
Make sure you thank your friends, family and work colleagues who are supporting you. Saying thank you is the easiest and most rewarding way for your supporters to feel like they are part of your challenge
Change your Facebook profile picture to let your friends and family know you are participating in the Big Walk.
